SCHOOL OF MEDICINE

The mission of the School of Medicine is to educate physicians, scientists, and allied health professionals through the transmission of biomedical knowledge acquired from research and patient care.

The School of Medicine comprises 17 academic departments:

• Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine;
• Biochemistry and Molecular Biology;
• Cell Biology/Physiology;
• Dermatology;
• Emergency Medicine;
• Family and Community Medicine;
• Internal Medicine;
• Molecular Genetics/Microbiology;
• Neurology;
• Neurosciences;
• Obstetrics and Gynecology;
• Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation;
• Pathology;
• Pediatrics;
• Psychiatry;
• Radiology; and
• Surgery.

The Dean of the School of Medicine reports to the Vice President for Health Sciences.
