Update type: Policy revision
Revision status: Published
Previous revision: Policy revision – February 7, 2022
Next revision: Minor/maintenance update – November 29, 2022

Revision notes

The UNM Office of Compliance, Ethics, and Equal Opportunity (CEEO) has identified a few changes to Policies D175 and D176 that are necessary to comply with federal regulations under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. Federal regulations require that sanctions pertaining to Title IX findings must be consistent across all of UNM. Therefore, the proposed changes place responsibility for determining Title IX sanctions with the Dean of Students. However, regarding sanctions for HSC or law students, the Dean of Students will consult with the applicable dean, or designee in determining sanctions.
