September 25: A53 "Development and Approval of Faculty Policies"
Comment period runs September 25 through October 25. Please send comments to for the Office of the University Secretary to collect and submit to the appropriate committees.
The attached proposed revision of Policy A53 “Development and Approval of Faculty Policies” was developed by the Faculty Senate Policy Committee (FSPC). The proposed changes include:
•Applicability Section – updated name of Branch Community Colleges.
•Policy Statement – added 2.1 to have a streamlined process for addressing regulatory or legally mandated changes to policy.
•Procedures Section – reordered the Faculty Handbook sections to ensure that the most important information is at the top of the policy and clarified which sections are “above the line” requiring full approvals and which are “below the line” requiring limited approvals.
